Background
JUSTNature is a Horizon 2020 innovation project that focuses on activating nature-based solutions (NbS) by ensuring a just transition to low-carbon cities, based on the principle of the right to ecological space. JUSTNature will contribute to this vision of shaping low-carbon cities by co-developing a set of typical Low carbon | High air quality NbS in six European city practice labs.
The Nature-building Helix is an international Open Innovation community made up of a wide range of specialists, spanning from climate change mitigation and adaptation to urban design and big data. The Helix was launched as a focus for impact and dissemination services in support of the JUSTNature project's ambition to foster a collaborative ecosystem revolving around environmentally just and inclusive cities supported by smart solutions. In achieving this ambition, JUSTNature will contribute towards efforts to enable effective governance, NbS maintenance, innovative business models, and efficient technologies.
