Manufacturing Open Innovation community on Crowdhelix

Background:

The Manufacturing Helix was amongst the first tranche of Helix communities launched by Crowdhelix in early 2013. It provides an Open Innovation platform for experts seeking international collaborators to carry out manufacturing-related research and innovation in the following areas:

  • Smart manufacturing & processing
  • Mechanical and manufacturing engineering (shaping, mounting, joining, separation)
  • Remanufacturing
  • Factories of the Future
  • Sustainable Process Industries (“SPIRE”)
  • Additive manufacturing
  • Industrial robotics
  • Nano-Fabrication
  • Resource-efficient production
  • Materials processing
  • Digitalization in manufacturing
  • AI-application in manufacturing

The Manufacturing Helix is closely intertwined with the activities of several other Helixes; including Materials, Digital, Energy, & Circular Plastics.

Key Project: CREDIT

The CREDIT project, launched in January 2024, represents a breakthrough in the field of circular remanufacturing by integrating DT technologies and advanced digital services to promote sustainable manufacturing and reduce environmental impact. With a focus on a human-centric approach and broad applicability across various industrial sectors, the project aims to revolutionise the remanufacturing process, improve decision-making, and enhance traceability and quality control. By addressing existing challenges and unlocking innovation potential, CREDIT will pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient future in manufacturing.

IDENER is leading a diverse consortium with 11 academic and research partners, SMEs and industry partners across 7 countries, comprising organisations across the EU, Turkey and Israel, each bringing unique innovation and experience.
