ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks: How Can PhD Researchers Harness it to Secure Funding?

Crowdhelix is proud to launch ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks, an AI-powered assistant designed to give doctoral students an edge when crafting compelling MSCA Doctoral Networks proposals ahead of the 25 November 2025 submission deadline.

Following the successful launch of ReviewIQ for Postdoctoral Fellowships, which has already supported over 3,000 proposal development sessions, ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks represents our latest first-to-market AI proposal support tool, underscoring our commitment to helping Crowdhelix members successfully deliver real impact.

This latest iteration of ReviewIQ is the second of many AI-driven products we’re seeking to build and develop for Crowdhelix members. We plan to expand ReviewIQ to incorporate additional Horizon Europe funding instruments in the coming months.

ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks incorporates much of the feedback and improvements suggested by Crowdhelix members following the launch of ReviewIQ for Postdoctoral Fellowships and has been developed in close collaboration with some of Europe’s most innovative universities, including the University of Leeds, TU Delft, TU Dublin, UCL, and Tampere University.

What is ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks?

ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks is an AI-powered tool hosted on the Crowdhelix platform that enables Doctoral researchers to refine their proposals. Tailored for MSCA Doctoral Networks applications, it:

  • Analyses sections of draft proposals (e.g. “excellence”, “impact”) and offers section-specific suggestions.
  • Clarifies structural/formal aspects, e.g., distinctions between parts B1 and B2, template formatting, and eligibility questions.
  • Operates securely, via a self-hosted, GDPR‑compliant model where user content is encrypted and session histories expire after inactivity.
  • The tool was first released for Postdoctoral Fellowships and has now been extended to Doctoral Networks, prioritising the next wave of MSCA applicants.

How to Access ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks

How to Use ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks Effectively

Doctoral Network proposals must cover key areas like excellence, supervision, career development, dissemination, and intersectoral collaboration. ReviewIQ for Doctoral Networks helps ensure those requirements are met with precision.

Applicants can refine their proposals by selecting ReviewIQ’s Section Feedback mode.

This mode allows users to paste sections of their proposals into ReviewIQ for detailed analysis.

Users must select the draft part, draft section, and subsection from the drop-down menu before pasting their content into ReviewIQ.

Researchers can also pose follow-up questions about the feedback they received by typing them into ReviewIQ.

Doctoral students can also access ReviewIQ’s General Writing Advice mode to access clear, concise answers to formal questions about MSCA submission requirements, template usage, formatting procedures, and the structural differences between Parts B1 and B2.

How Can Researchers Delete Their Session Histories, and How Secure Is ReviewIQ?

Session histories are automatically deleted after four weeks of inactivity. Users can also manually delete their data at any time by clicking clear session.

ReviewIQ is built with the highest standards of data security. Hosted on GDPR-compliant Google Cloud infrastructure within the EEA, all user data is encrypted, strictly confidential, and never used to train AI models.

ReviewIQ: built for researchers who want to focus on innovation, not administration.

Why ReviewIQ Matters for Doctoral Network Applicants

With a fixed submission deadline of 25 November 2025, applicants need to be able to draft and iterate their submissions efficiently.

ReviewIQ’s instant feedback accelerates the iterative process by providing tailored feedback by harnessing a machine-learning model trained on hundreds of successful funding proposals, expert evaluation reports, and decades of accumulated human insight.

What’s Coming Next

Following conversations with Crowdhelix members and stakeholders, we plan to expand ReviewIQ to incorporate additional Horizon Europe funding instruments in Q4 2025.

We plan to announce details in the coming months.
