Seeking expertise:
The IERC would like to join a consortium for the promotion of renovation innovation. We have experience and have been successful in various CSAs that have as subject engaging with local stakeholders. We have also participated in projects related to prefabricated building renovation.
Our research focus is on balancing energy savings with user quality and attaining sustainable design of climate-adaptable buildings using both passive and active technologies.
This is achieved through a wide range of competencies covering the analysis and design of energy efficiency improvements, the modelling of energy supply and storage, the design of energy management methods, the energy policy analysis, the energy auditing, the ability to perform comparative studies and pilot demonstrations of emerging technologies, developing new business models and contractual templates to enhance the performances of smart energy services and to foster their adoption across the diverse sectors.
Simulation research is done primarily through EnergyPlus and Radiance.
