Cognitive Cloud: AI-enabled computing continuum from Cloud to Edge (RIA)

In Cloud Computing Research Group (CCRG) at Ozyegin University, we've been working with different industries (IT, mobile telecomm, energy, manufacturing, education) to address their computational challenges over the last decade. We witnessed migrations from local to cloud via virtualization and developed efficient, application-aware, AI-enabled schedulers for their resource optimization. It is now time to push this intelligence towards the edges. Currently, we are developing federated learning applications, DNN evaluation frameworks for the edge and PINN models to prepare for the cognitive cloud. We can evaluate performance of different industrial applications in distributed, virtualized, containerized and scalable settings. Together, we can utilize Amazon AWS, Google, Microsoft Azure public cloud services if needed or build private cognitive clouds, based-on open-source tools.

We need industrial partners who are collecting industrial data from edge devices and want to demonstrate cognitive cloud use cases. Preferably, these partners could be from the manufacturing industry (any sector from appliances to automotive), municipalities with smart city applications, IoT gateway startups or active cloud ecosystem partners (providers, customers, brokers, auditors, consultants).
