Project Proposal

Looking for partnerships for JUST Grants and Security related issues, Miguel João Costa is a Guest Assistant Professor at the University of Coimbra and an Integrated Researcher of the UCILeR. He holds a PhD (2019) and his main field of research has been European and International Cooperation in Criminal Matters, notably Extradition Law (Brill | Nijhoff 2019). He has taken part in numerous international research projects (most recently in the CrossJustice project, under EC Grant Agreement 84734), and since 2021 he is a Member of the Expert Group of the European Commission on the European Arrest Warrant.

We are looking to collaborate on the following calls:

JUST-2023-JCOO: Call for proposals for action grants to promote judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters

JUST-2023-JTRA: Call for proposals for action grants to support transnational projects on judicial training covering civil law, criminal law or fundamental rights

JUST-2023-JACC-EJUSTICE: Call for proposals for action grants to support transnational projects in the fields of e-Justice, victims’ rights and procedural rights

University of Coimbra Institute for Legal research (UCILeR) has a centenary tradition of research within the Faculty of Law. Nowadays performs advanced research in cutting edge legal issues, aiming to develop legal strategies and innovative tools to deal with the most pressing societal challenges. UCILeR integrates 80 researchers dedicated to the development of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research and works in partnership with various world-renowned research centres.

UCILeR’s research team has experience in national and internationally funded projects. Ongoing projects include H2020, Justice Program, Erasmus +, World Health Organization, CYTED and other nationally funded projects.
