Project Proposal

🎯 WHO?
We are looking to support promising young academics looking to apply to a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. We are particularly interested in academics working broadly on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Spatial Computing (or XR).

Applicants will be based at the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI, https://iti.larsys.pt/), part of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, https://tecnico.ulisboa.pt/en/) and the University of Lisbon.

ITI is an interdisciplinary institute home to engineers, designers, social scientists, artists, and humanists promoting technology in a sustainable, inclusive, and aesthetically pleasing manner. IST is the largest and most reputed school of engineering, science, and technology in Portugal.

Because Portugal is listed as a WIDENING country, not only do applicants have a higher chance of success when applying to carry out their research work at a Portuguese institution, but if not funded, their application will automatically be resubmitted as an ERA Fellowship (if eligible).

Objective: support researchers’ careers and foster excellence in research. These fellowships action target researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills, and develop their careers.

Eligibility: researchers of any nationality can apply. They should have a PhD degree or have defended at the time of the deadline for applications; must have a maximum of eight years experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree; and they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary (i.e., Portugal).

The fellowship provides a living allowance (approx. net €3,350 per month), a mobility allowance (approx. €710 per month), and if applicable, family (approx. €660 per month), long-term leave, and special needs allowances. Funding for research, training, and networking activities is also provided.
