Open Innovation Opportunity

Project Proposal

PRESERVE is a European research project that develops solutions to improve the recyclability of food contact packaging. The consortium involved in PRESERVE is researching new approaches and uses of bioplastics, adhesives and cellulose-based biopolymers in this application sector. The materials recovered from packaging recycling will be upcycled to create secondary raw materials for cosmetic packaging and composites, thus reducing the waste generated and the impact on landfill waste.

We are looking for professionals to become members of the project's External Advisory Board.

Profile: We are looking for experts currently developing professional activities related to the food packaging industry at any point of the value chain: from the raw material obtention up to the end of life product, passing by its processing and commercialization.

Tasks: Review of documentation and providing assessment on different aspects of the research on food packaging and its recycling in relation to market enablers/driving factors, market demand insights, identification of customer segments and value propositions pertinent for the customer segments recognized.

Dedication: Maximum 24 hours each 6 months on average, since the signature of the agreement until the end of the project (currently expected on 31 December 2024).

Benefits:
- Networking with relevant members of the academy and companies operating at the international level in the food packaging sector who are active members of the PRESERVE consortium.
- Early access to relevant information about the project, its conclusions and results.
- Visibility as an expert, recognized by the PRESERVE Consortium members.

Other:
The consortium will assess any potential conflict of interest in the selection process. The professionals invited to become members of the External Advisory Board will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and will be procured with all the required assistance both at the administrative and technical level. In case travelling was required to a face-to-face meeting, the expenditures would be covered by the Consortium.

If you are interested, please send an e-mail to [email protected], expressing your interest and providing insights on your experience.

The deadline to receive applications is 4 March 2022.
