Invitation to join the HAPTICS Helix
Seeking expertise:
We are pleased to invite you to join the new “HAPTICS Helix" community. This Helix arises from a newly funded Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation action called *TOUCHLESS.
The vision of TOUCHLESS is to go beyond functional haptic technology and enable computer systems to intelligently create the experiences that were previously lost in the virtual transition; a gap recently magnified by social distancing measures due to COVID-19 and remote working. The consortium will combine the use of mid-air haptics (e.g., as produced by focusing ultrasound waves), neurocognitive models of haptic- mediated experiences and novel hybrid artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks to emulate virtual social touch interactions that are rich in agency, bonding and attachment.
The HAPTICS Helix will form a virtual community where you can collaborate with your peers and follow the project’s advancements, activities, events and results. Within the helix you can share and join specific collaboration opportunities related to this topic. You can also invite any stakeholders outside the Network who may be interested in this field, and whom you trust to participate.
